Newtown School

Newtown School is an independent school in Waterford, Ireland, educating students in the Quaker tradition since 1798. Its approach looks beyond examination results, aiming to help young people discover their strengths and develop confidence, independence and respect. Guided by values including honesty, integrity, simplicity, equality and peace, the school promotes an inclusive community where students and staff learn and work together.

Newtown offers both boarding and day-student experiences. Teaching takes place in small classes, alongside a strong emphasis on pastoral care and students’ academic, personal, social and spiritual development. The school’s programme includes sports, music, drama and other extracurricular activities, with opportunities for study, exercise and social connection. Boarding and dining are part of the school’s offering, while day students can take part in a flexible full-day programme designed to balance learning, recreation and wellbeing.

Newtown School also welcomes prospective families to explore admissions, speak with a boarding-school advisor and attend an open day.
