About on New Zealand Ecology
The New Zealand Ecological Society (NZES), established in 1951, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the study of ecology and applying ecological knowledge across various domains. With over 550 members, the society fosters collaboration and communication among ecologists while promoting ecological awareness and sound environmental management practices.
NZES is known for publishing cutting-edge research in the *New Zealand Journal of Ecology*, a biannual scientific journal featuring refereed articles on fundamental and applied ecological studies. The society also organizes an annual conference with workshops, symposia, and field trips designed to connect professionals and students in the field of ecology.
In addition to its publications and conferences, NZES offers awards, grants, and a mentorship program to support the career development of ecologists and students. Through diverse educational initiatives and community engagement, the Society aims to uphold high professional standards and facilitate ecological education in schools and universities across New Zealand. Join NZES to enhance your ecological knowledge and contribute to a sustainable future.
