James Cagney’s New Zealand Hunting Adventures provides guided, genuine free-range hunts for red stag, tahr and chamois in the South Island’s high country. Based at Lake Coleridge in the Rakaia Valley, about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Christchurch International Airport, the operation hunts across private wilderness properties and, for some trips, public wilderness areas under a government concession. Its hunting is conducted without high fences or farm-bred animals, focusing on wild populations and carefully managed private-land partnerships.
