Nexclay is a Portuguese producer of expanded clay, founded in 2002 as Argex and now operating under the Nexclay name. The company focuses on manufacturing lightweight expanded-clay aggregate for construction, landscaping and infrastructure applications, with an emphasis on practical performance and environmental protection.
Its product range includes Nexclay expanded clay in several grades: 0–2, 2–4, 3–8F, 3–8 and 8–16. The spherical aggregate has a microporous ceramic interior and a rigid, resistant outer surface. It is supplied in 50-litre bags, 1.5- and 3-cubic-metre Big Bags, or in bulk.
Applications include lightweight filling and insulation in new construction and renovation, horticulture and landscaping, geotechnical works, filtration, solar thermal projects and precast concrete. For floor filling, Nexclay describes a three-step method using dry expanded clay, a surface application of cement slurry and a final screed after 24 hours. The company also provides technical data sheets, product and application catalogues, certificates, performance declarations, pricing information and reference projects.
