NEXTONIC

NEXTONIC is an open research and innovation laboratory founded by Telefónica and IMDEA Networks Institute to advance technology and business innovation through collaboration between industry and academia. Focused on 5G and emerging network technologies, it brings together companies, researchers, institutions, and other partners to develop projects, test solutions, and share expertise in an international environment.

The laboratory offers a collaborative setting for developing and testing products and services, demonstrating pre-commercial equipment and applications, and assessing interoperability and end-to-end network performance. Its activities include joint research and product development, technology trials with clients in sectors such as energy, transport, manufacturing, and healthcare, and the development and demonstration of project testbeds. NEXTONIC also supports knowledge exchange through white papers, research publications, workshops, conferences, seminars, and other events. Its academic connections provide opportunities for research collaboration, student projects, training, and internships. Based at IMDEA Networks Institute in Leganés, Madrid, NEXTONIC provides facilities for meetings and events, as well as a flexible framework for collaborators to undertake specific activities while addressing intellectual property and confidentiality.
