NEXT UP Youth Sports

NEXT UP Youth Sports is a coed, non-contact flag football league for children ages 5 to 14 in southeast Wisconsin. Led by Certified Commissioner Jim Boldrey, the league welcomes beginners and experienced players, with age-based divisions that help kids compete alongside peers. Its program introduces core football skills—including throwing, catching, running routes and pulling flags—while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, friendship and confidence.

NEXT UP offers a six-game regular season followed by playoffs and a championship for top teams in each division. Activities take place one day a week, with practice scheduled immediately before the game to make participation easier for busy families. Flag belts replace tackling, so plays end when a defender pulls a player’s flag. Families can join the Season 1 interest list at no cost to receive dates, location and fees before registration opens. The organization also invites parents to coach or volunteer and offers local businesses opportunities to sponsor teams. NEXT UP serves families across communities including Brookfield, Waukesha, Muskego, Menomonee Falls and Wauwatosa.
