New Fortress Energy is an energy company founded by Wes Edens in 2014 with a mission to expand access to affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy. The project would develop an offshore facility to liquefy natural gas for international markets. Its planned infrastructure includes two floating liquefied natural gas facilities, FLNG1 and FLNG2, each made up of three connected platforms, along with a compression rig and a floating storage unit. The facility is designed to produce 2.8 million metric tons of LNG annually once operational.
The project team coordinates with the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Maritime Administration, and other agencies and jurisdictions on permitting.
