NG AH SIO Bak Kut Teh is one of the few truly Singaporean culinary heritage dishes that has captured the hearts of locals. This delectable dish originated from early settlers who brewed it for nourishment and strength, particularly the young godown workers in Singapore. In the 1950s, Mr.
Ng Ah Sio's father started selling this savory, pork-based, peppery soup cooked in the distinct Teochew style. The dish was traditionally served with Chinese donuts (You tiao) and a flavorful brew of Chinese tea. Since Mr.
Ng Ah Sio took over the business in 1977, NG AH SIO Bak Kut Teh has grown in popularity. The brand has become synonymous with delicious and authentic pork ribs soup. Each bowl is served with chili and dark soya sauce, complemented by freshly-brewed Kung Fu tea.
