About Next Generation Leadership Programme
The Next Generation Leadership Programme, initiated by Porticus Africa in 2005, aims to enhance the leadership capabilities of the Church in East Africa. This transformational program, now known as NGLP, caters to Catholic Religious Sisters, Brothers, Priests, and laypersons nominated by their congregational or diocesan superiors. The curriculum covers educational opportunities and four essential leadership courses: Servant Leadership, Child Protection, Executive Leadership, and Catholic Social Thought.
Hosted at Tangaza University College in Kenya, Mwenge Catholic University in Tanzania, and University of Kisubi in Uganda, the program boasts approximately 491 scholars and an alumni network of around 1,200 individuals. NGLP equips emerging leaders with the skills to address diverse challenges within the Church, enabling them to create a positive impact on under-served communities. By blending academic rigor with practical experiences, NGLP cultivates a cadre of competent leaders poised to drive positive change within the African Church.
