About NGO-CEDAW
The Cambodian NGO Committee on CEDAW is a nationally registered NGO in Cambodia that aims to promote gender equality and the realization of human rights for both men and women. Founded in 1995 by Cambodian women activists who attended the Beijing World Conference on Women, NGO-CEDAW works towards substantive equality in all fields.
Their work includes monitoring the implementation of the UN Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) by the Cambodian government, raising awareness through public education and radio programming, advocating for better laws to protect women's rights (including the rights of LGBT individuals, disabled individuals, and those living with HIV), and providing capacity building opportunities through training and technical assistance on women's rights.
NGO-CEDAW operates with a human rights-based approach, using a feminist perspective to address issues and promote equality and fairness. Join their coalition, access resources, or find opportunities to get involved with their mission of creating an inclusive and empowered Cambodian society.
