The Network for Health Equity and Development (NHED) is a Nigerian public health and development non-profit organisation working to improve health systems and expand equitable access to care across Africa. It brings together professionals and partners from Nigeria and beyond to deliver community-focused interventions, particularly for vulnerable and underserved populations. NHED’s expertise includes health advocacy, service delivery, nutrition, and leadership, governance, policy, and planning. Its work supports evidence-based, cost-effective public health programmes, policy development, behaviour change, and improved nutrition, including micronutrient education and supplementation.

NHED has implemented projects in partnership with government agencies, local and international organisations, and funders. These include the NaijPro720 digital performance management platform for Nigeria’s HIV response; nutrition programmes in Gombe, Nasarawa, and Plateau States; and the IMPACT Malaria Project in Borno State. Its approaches combine facility-based services, community outreach, stakeholder engagement, digital data tools, and programme monitoring. Through these services and partnerships, NHED aims to strengthen responsive health systems and develop effective, locally grounded solutions to health and development challenges.
