New Horizons Safety Training (NHST) is a Rockhampton-based registered training organisation providing nationally recognised training and RTO services, with a focus on the mining and civil construction industries. Its programs help participants build workplace safety skills, meet industry training requirements and pursue relevant high-risk work licences and competencies. Courses are delivered in person and online.
Training covers mining inductions, including Queensland Standard 11 Surface Induction and refresher training, as well as supervisor and risk management programs. Other options include 4WD and light vehicle driving, confined-space work, working safely at heights, gas testing, plant isolation, underground emergency response and construction White Card training. NHST also offers first aid and CPR, low-voltage switchboard rescue and CPR, forklift operation, and elevated work platform training. Online short courses include selected induction and safety programs.
The organisation provides practical training and assessment, course enrolment and certificate validation services. Its programs are designed for a range of learners, from new entrants seeking mine-site access to workers maintaining skills and currency for their roles.
