North Island Wild

North Island Crisis and Counselling Centre Society (NICCCS) is a community-based, not-for-profit charitable organization serving individuals and families across British Columbia’s North Island. For more than 43 years, it has worked to empower people and help build safer, stronger communities through trauma-informed support, professional services, and practical resources.

NICCCS offers programs for children and youth, families, adults, and seniors. Services for children and young people from newborn to age 24 include childcare, infant development, mental health counselling, and youth outreach. Family and crisis supports include confidential counselling, outreach, and safe shelter for people navigating relationship challenges, violence, or mental health crises. Adult and senior services include addiction recovery, sexual assault support, hospice care, and assistance with independent living.

The Society also provides victim services and connects people with crisis resources, including a 24-hour women’s safe shelter and regional crisis lines. NICCCS welcomes volunteers, invites referrals, and relies on community donations to support its charitable work. It acknowledges that it lives and works on the territories of the Kwa̱kwa̱ka’waḵw people.
