About Nice Place Foundation
Nice Place Foundation is a remarkable brand that aims to empower and protect young girls, founded by Nice Leng’ete herself. Nice, having defied cultural norms in her own life, became the first woman in Masai history to be honored with the Black Talking Stick, a symbol of leadership in her community. In collaboration with Amref Health Africa, the largest health NGO in Africa, she created an alternative rite of passage to spare young women from female genital cutting (FGC).
Many girls in the Kajiado region face the risk of FGC and child marriages, but Nice Place Foundation provides them with a safe haven, protecting them from such practices. The foundation is dedicated to nurturing the girls' talents and empowering them through leadership development, advocacy, and entrepreneurship. With a strong commitment to respecting body integrity, cultural values, and education, Nice Place Foundation is a safe space where girls are empowered to live a dignified life and achieve their dreams for a sustainable future
