About NicheDB
NicheDB is an open, ever-growing database that turns public information into feeds people can follow, subscribe to, query, and use in software. Built around a single Postgres database, it makes records accessible through the web, RSS, JSON, an API, CLI, and MCP. Its collections bring together real-time and regularly updated data from public sources across a wide range of subjects, including games, software packages, government filings, books, music, health, research, weather, housing, jobs, markets, crime, public spending, news, aviation, and water.
Users can explore existing feeds or submit one, with options to follow specific topics, sources, or categories. NicheDB also offers VIN lookup and data on vehicles, including recalls, owner-reported issues, safety ratings, engines, and fuel economy. Its services include a premium plan priced at $1 per day, with benefits such as higher data limits, themes, award credits, and access to The Lounge.
