About Nicole Apelian
Dr. Nicole Apelian is a multi-talented individual who excels in various fields. As an herbalist, biologist, anthropologist, best-selling author, survival TV celebrity, mother, educator, and traditional skills instructor, Nicole's expertise covers a broad range of subjects. Her passion lies in sharing her knowledge of herbal medicine, wild foods, nature connection, and survival skills with the world.
Inspired by her own journey towards wellness after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2000, Nicole developed a healthy living strategy that includes deep nature connection and gratitude practices. Through simple lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and the use of her potent herbal supplements like the Mushroom Fourtress, she transformed from being bedridden to thriving.
Nicole's extensive experience includes participating in the History Channel's TV series "Alone," where she showcased her survival skills in the wilderness. She is also the author of three books, including "The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies," "A Reference Guide to Surviving Nature," and "The Forager's Guide to Wild Foods."
With a strong background in cultural anthropology and sustainability education, Nicole learned ancestral skills from the San Bushmen of southern Africa. Today, she continues her work with them through her non-profit organization, "The Origins Project."
Furthermore, Nicole offers consulting services for TV, book, film, and movie productions, and is a motivational keynote speaker for various events. As an experienced educator, she has taught at schools, universities, and conservation education programs.
Based in the Pacific Northwest, Nicole lives with her family and creates her own herbal medicines from local plants and mushrooms as part of her healthy living strategy, particularly in relation to autoimmune issues.
