About NIDI
NIDI: Cross sections of population research NIDI, the national demographic institute of the Netherlands, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. With a focus on population research, NIDI has made significant contributions to understanding various aspects of society for the past half-century. Their research areas include aging and longevity, families and generations, migration and migrants, work and retirement, as well as policy and dissemination.
Throughout the years, NIDI has conducted numerous studies that have shed light on important societal issues. NIDI's work has been recognized and supported by a team of dedicated staff, affiliated and guest researchers, and a scientific advisory board. To further promote research, NIDI also awards the NIDI-NVD master thesis.
Their commitment to transparency is evident in the Open Government Act, as well as their efforts to share their findings through publications and events. For a comprehensive overview of their 50 years of research, NIDI has compiled an anniversary book titled 50 Cross Sections of Population Research 1970-2020. This book showcases key insights and milestones from their studies.
