Nielson pays homage to its namesake, who planted the first commercial vineyard in Santa Barbara County at a time when the region was deemed too cold for grape cultivation. Pushing boundaries and defying conventional wisdom, Nielson believed in the potential of Santa Barbara as a prominent winegrowing region, and his vision has been proven right over the past five decades.

The Nielson Vineyard, located just 18 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, benefits from the coastal climate and morning fog, resulting in exceptional Pinot Noirs with dark fruit and floral notes, as well as balanced Chardonnays with renowned mineral, citrus, and orange blossom characteristics.
