About Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa
NIERA, the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa, is an independent network of East African scholars dedicated to conducting decision-focused evaluations of social and economic development programs in order to improve people's wellbeing. Hosted by the United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa) in Nairobi, Kenya, NIERA aims to advance inclusive and sustainable development across the continent. With membership across five member countries - Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Rwanda - NIERA brings together scholars equipped with high-level academic degrees and experience in conducting rigorous evaluations in various thematic areas such as agriculture, education, energy and environment, finance, gender, youth and vulnerable groups, health, political economy and governance, and water, sanitation, and infrastructure.
