About Spelling Bee Nigeria
Nigeria Spelling Bee, a product of Bee Spelling Competition Initiative, is a registered Non-Governmental Organization endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Education. Their mission is to address common mistakes made by students and writers in the usage of English words and the three major Nigerian languages. In order to promote accurate spelling and improve students' knowledge, they organize spelling competitions for primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary school students at state, regional, and national levels.
Winners of the National Finals have a chance to win a N1,000,000 scholarship Grand Prize, as well as other prizes. Additionally, the National Champions earn an all-expenses-paid trip to represent Nigeria at the African Spelling Bee. Nigeria Spelling Bee's vision is to contribute to the education of Nigerian youth by improving reading and spelling performance, while also preserving the local languages.
