Nightfall is a privacy-focused Layer-1 blockchain project whose NIGHT cryptocurrency is designed to conceal transaction amounts and addresses while keeping its total supply verifiable. The network is live on mainnet, CPU mineable, and has a hard cap of 90 million NIGHT with zero premine. Its protocol burns transaction fees for now, with fees intended to go to miners after the block subsidy ends.

Nightfall offers a desktop Core wallet for sending and receiving NIGHT, running a full node, and mining, as well as a browser-based wallet that keeps keys in the user’s browser. The project describes its privacy model as built into every block: payments are combined, amounts are represented by cryptographic commitments, and addresses are replaced by one-time keys. Users can selectively share transaction details through view keys or receipts.

The network uses supply checks, range proofs, and signatures to help verify that coins were not created improperly. Nightfall also provides technical information, security disclosures, and comparisons with other privacy coins.
