Drawing inspiration from ancient and sacred texts, Nigiste Saba incorporates the language of Ge'ez, a semitic language of Northern Ethiopia, in their designs. It is a fitting tribute to a queen whose bold spirit and grace defied 3000 years. The brand's designs also feature iconic symbols such as the Lion of Judah, symbolizing Ethiopianism and African sovereignty, and the Cross, representing love, sacrifice, and salvation.
These symbols carry deep meaning for Ethiopians and people around the world. Founded in 2013 by Fairuz Zein, a biologist with Ethiopian and Yemeni heritage, Nigiste Saba Watches has expanded globally and even opened a store in Ethiopia in 2019.
