Nissens Hestebiomekanik is a Danish equine practice founded by veterinarian Andrea Louise Ramsing Lindegaard Nissen, who specializes in biomechanics, osteopathy and the PAS® method. A veterinarian since 2009, Andrea has further training in equine osteopathy and holds the EDO® (Equine Diplomat of Osteopathy) title. She also has a PhD in biomechanics and uses movement analysis to inform her work with horses.
The practice combines movement analysis, osteopathic treatment and proprioceptive training through PAS® (Proprioceptive Activation System), a method Andrea developed in collaboration with Aktiv Form in Odense. PAS is used in treatment and rehabilitation, with a focus on proprioceptive activation for horses and riders. Nissens Hestebiomekanik offers equine osteopathy and PAS services, as well as workshops and courses. The practice is based at Ellemosegaard in Kalundborg, Denmark, where it is developing its clinic. Andrea also shares articles, research and case examples, and provides information about services, prices and contact details for horse owners seeking support.
