NL Prostate Cancer Support

Newfoundland and Labrador Prostate Cancer Support Groups (NLPCSG) is a provincial network that has helped individuals and families cope with prostate cancer since 2000. It brings together two support groups and three local contacts serving different regions of Newfoundland and Labrador. The organization’s mission is to provide peer support, make information more accessible, and increase awareness of prostate cancer across the province.

NLPCSG offers one-to-one support from fellow cancer survivors through face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations, and online services. People seeking help can connect with local groups and contacts, including those serving the Avalon, Western, and Central regions, or contact the organization for guidance. NLPCSG also helps people find relevant services, such as Cancer Patient Navigators and social workers, and shares information and resources about prostate cancer. Its volunteers give awareness presentations, reaching an average of 2,000 people each year since the program began. Through its support, information, and community outreach, NLPCSG helps people affected by prostate cancer feel better informed and less alone.
