NLR Indonesia

NLR Indonesia is a nonprofit organization working to prevent leprosy and address its effects while promoting an inclusive society for people with disabilities. Active in Indonesia since 1975, it partners with government, health professionals, universities, civil society organizations, affected communities, media, and donors. Its goal is an Indonesia free from leprosy and its consequences by 2040.

The organization’s programs combine early detection, timely treatment, prevention, and community education. Its Zero Leprosy Project strengthens health systems and community involvement in endemic areas, while PEPCOM supports community-based prevention through preventive medication, health worker training, and public awareness. NLR Indonesia also promotes economic inclusion by providing skills training and access to employment for people affected by leprosy. Through community networks and advocacy, it works to reduce stigma and advance equal rights.

Alongside its programs, NLR Indonesia shares personal stories, research, educational materials, and practical guidance for health workers. It also supports people who have experienced leprosy to speak up for their rights and participate in community life with greater confidence and independence.
