About NM Counties
New Mexico Counties is a nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1968 with the aim of strengthening the ability of New Mexico counties to govern their own affairs and enhance the well-being and quality of life of their constituents. Serving as a statewide voice for all 33 counties, they offer a range of services and resources to their members. County Members of New Mexico Counties have access to training programs, technical assistance, and comprehensive Loss Prevention services.
Additionally, the organization provides Workers' Compensation, Multi-Line, and Law Enforcement coverage for its member Counties. Governed by a board of directors, which includes elected officials from each of the 33 member counties, New Mexico Counties also includes ex-officio members such as officers, the Treasurer, and the Executive Director. They also collaborate with various boards and associations to support county networking and facilitate professional development.
