About National Milk Producers Federation
The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) is a U.S. dairy industry organization that develops and advances policies on behalf of dairy producers and the cooperatives they own. Describing itself as the voice of dairy farmers in the nationβs capital, NMPF represents member cooperatives and associate members and advocates on issues affecting farms, workers, markets, and consumers.
Its policy work spans milk pricing and farm economics, risk management, trade, labor and immigration, sustainability, animal health and welfare, nutrition, food safety, and dairy labeling standards. The federation also supports dairy producers through programs and resources, including the National Dairy FARM Program, export and trade initiatives, the National Young Cooperators Program, and a dairy leadership scholarship. Its online resources cover topics such as biosecurity, highly pathogenic avian influenza, mental health, and natural disasters.
NMPF keeps members and the public informed through news, reports, newsletters, events, and the Dairy Defined podcast. It also offers opportunities to participate in advocacy, track legislation, and engage with policymakers on matters important to dairy farming.
