Noord Nederlands Orkest

The Noord Nederlands Orkest (NNO) is a symphony orchestra presenting a varied programme of live music and cultural activities. Its concert calendar features classical masterpieces, works for choir and orchestra, film music, crossover performances, chamber music and special events. Audiences can also attend open rehearsals and introductory concerts, designed to make a first experience of classical music more accessible. The orchestra performs at venues across the northern Netherlands, including Groningen, Drachten and Assen, and also appears elsewhere in the country.

Alongside its performances, the NNO offers educational activities for people of all ages and opportunities for amateur musicians to take part in projects. Its wider musical community includes the Noord Nederlands Concertkoor, while chamber music performances bring NNO musicians into more intimate settings. The organisation also shares articles, videos and podcasts featuring music, artists and insights into composers and works. Supporters can contribute through donations, membership of the Friends Association, sponsorship and legacy giving.
