Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) is a U.S. national security enterprise supporting the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Managed and operated by Mission Support and Test Services, LLC, the site has served national security missions since 1950. Its multi-mission, high-hazard facilities provide specialized technical and service capabilities for government and national laboratory partners.

NNSS helps steward the nation’s nuclear deterrent by supporting the safety, reliability, and security of the nuclear weapons stockpile. Its work also includes nuclear and radiological emergency response capabilities and training, nonproliferation and arms control initiatives, national-level experiments, and long-term environmental stewardship of the site’s Cold War legacy. Key capabilities include stockpile science, research and development, and remote sensing and aerial measurement through its Remote Sensing Laboratory, which can detect, analyze, and track radioactive material during emergencies.

The site also offers partnership opportunities, procurement resources, research collaborations, and workforce programs, including student programs. Through its science, engineering, technology, and operational expertise, NNSS contributes to national security activities and efforts to protect the United States and its allies.
