About No-Trash Triangle Initiative
No-Trash Triangle Initiative is a brand dedicated to transforming North-Sulawesi into a role model region for combatting ocean plastic pollution. Their ultimate goal is to develop a blueprint that can be implemented in other regions facing similar challenges. Recognizing the need to change mindsets and habits, the brand focuses on shifting perceptions through education, visible actions, and community outreach.
Collaboration with other communities is crucial to successfully addressing plastic waste issues and preserving coral reefs, mangroves, and marine life. The initiative originated in 2017 when marine biologists from HYDRA Marine Sciences and Sam Ratulangi University discovered the devastating impact of plastic pollution on tropical ecosystems. The No-Trash Triangle Initiative was founded to establish a waste management program, utilizing the economic value of recyclable plastic.
Since then, the brand has expanded its waste management model through partnerships with CleanHub and PRLS, exploring innovative waste treatments and reducing plastic sent to landfills. With a dedicated team of experts, including marine biologists, project coordinators, and environmentalists, No-Trash Triangle Initiative strives to eradicate plastic pollution and protect the Coral Triangle
