About NOAA CESSRST
The NOAA Center for Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing Technologies (CESSRST) is an innovative Cooperative Science Center established in 2022, with a commitment to enhancing Earth system observations and fostering a diverse workforce in STEM fields. Funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, CESSRST collaborates with a consortium of distinguished partner institutions, including The City College of New York, San Diego State University, and the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, among others.
The center is devoted to education and research, focusing on the application of advanced remote sensing technologies to monitor and predict environmental changes. CESSRST aims to train a new generation of professionals equipped to address the critical challenges in coastal and marine resource management. Alongside its academic initiatives, CESSRST hosts various events, including symposiums and workshops, designed to bolster student engagement and professional development in STEM disciplines.
