Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) is a global NGO dedicated to transforming the healthcare industry worldwide. By advocating for sustainable practices, HCWH aims to reduce the environmental impact of healthcare, promote community sustainability, and lead the global movement for environmental health and justice. With regional offices across four continents, HCWH collaborates with partners globally to drive initiatives like the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network.
The organization works to replace harmful healthcare practices with eco-friendly alternatives to mitigate pollution and promote human health. HCWH's origins trace back to 1996, when it was founded in response to the health risks posed by medical waste incineration. Over the years, HCWH has evolved into an international coalition of over 500 organizations in 52 countries, making significant strides in creating a sustainable and healthier healthcare sector
