Nois

~Nois is a Chicago-based saxophone quartet founded in 2016 to champion new music and build community through innovative, inclusive, and exceptional musical experiences. The ensemble collaborates with composers to expand the repertoire for saxophone quartet and has presented more than 120 world premieres, working with artists including Viet Cuong, Jessie Montgomery, Nico Muhly, Shawn Okpebholo, and Augusta Read Thomas. Recognized at chamber music competitions such as the M-Prize International Arts Competition and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, ~Nois performs for audiences across the United States and beyond.

The group offers concerts, recitals, and educational activities, including masterclasses, residencies, and its Young Creators Fellowship. Its Chicago projects feature curated concerts highlighting local artists and new work, with programs including CURIOSITY and DISCOVERY. Through performances, collaborations, and community-focused initiatives, ~Nois creates opportunities for audiences to encounter contemporary music and for artists to connect with one another. The ensemble also shares recordings through its discography and provides resources for presenters and the press, alongside opportunities to support its work through donations.
