Do you enjoy running barrels, poles, flags, & such with your horse? Would you like to exercise your horse in an indoor arena in the winter, or trail ride with friends? Do you like to volunteer to do things to benefit your community and beyond? Our members are very encouraging of one another, and are as excited seeing others progress, as themselves. We compete on the club level, but we are also affiliated with PSHA. Many of our members compete at the State level & even at the Interstate level.

Nooksack Valley Riders is a community-based equestrian club serving Whatcom County and welcoming members from across Western Washington. It brings together riders and families who enjoy timed horse events, including barrels, poles, and flags, as well as indoor arena riding during winter and trail rides with friends. The club emphasizes friendly competition, mutual encouragement, and helping members improve their times, averages, and riding achievements.
Members compete locally and participate through the Patterned Speed Horse Association (PSHA), with some advancing to state and interstate competition. Families are an important part of the club, and its shows offer an accessible way to enjoy equestrian activities together. Each August, Nooksack Valley Riders stages exhibition shows in front of the grandstands at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.
Community service is another central part of its work: the club organizes a major annual fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and supports additional efforts such as disaster relief, local food bank distribution, and assistance for medical and crisis needs
