Santa María de la Vid Abbey is a Norbertine community in Albuquerque, New Mexico, serving the Church of Santa Fe through communal life, prayer, and compassionate service, particularly to people who are poor and in need. Guided by the Rule of Augustine and the ancient traditions of the Order of Prémontré, the community describes its mission as witnessing to the reality and power of Christian community. The Abbey welcomes people interested in exploring a vocation, learning about Norbertine life, or joining the community in prayer.
Its offerings include Mass and prayer times, homilies, spiritual direction, graduate education, and opportunities for personal and group retreats. Visitors and organizations can reserve overnight or day retreats in the Abbey’s facilities, set in a natural desert environment. The Abbey also hosts events that bring people together for faith and spiritual growth, including Taizé in the Desert, an ecumenical prayer gathering featuring song, silence, scripture, and praise
