About Nord Stream
Nord Stream is an international consortium that operates a natural gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea. Established in 2005, the consortium is made up of five major companies including Gazprom, Wintershall Dea, PEGI/E. ON, N.
V. Nederlandse Gasunie, and ENGIE. With the aim of providing a secure energy supply for Europe, Nord Stream has constructed two pipelines that have been operational since 2011 and 2012.
These pipelines, spanning over 1,200 kilometers in length, have the capacity to transport approximately 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. This amount of gas is sufficient to meet the energy demands of more than 26 million European households. With a commitment to safety and excellence, Nord Stream has designed the pipelines to operate for at least 50 years.
The project represents a total investment of 7. 4 billion euros, with both internal and external financing. Nord Stream is dedicated to ensuring energy security in Europe through its efficient and reliable gas supply route
