About Nordic Energy Research
Nordic Energy Research, an intergovernmental organization under the Nordic Council of Ministers, is dedicated to cooperative energy research and policy development. With a staff of 19 and based in Oslo, they work alongside their sister organizations Nordforsk and Nordic Innovation. Established in 1999, Nordic Energy Research builds on the foundation of Nordic cooperation in energy research that began in 1975, leading to common pot research funding since 1985.
They fund research and development projects that promote a sustainable future by expanding knowledge on sustainable energy and contributing to the development of new, competitive energy solutions. Nordic Energy Research's governance structure allows for close connections to both the national political systems of the five Nordic countries and the intergovernmental Nordic system. By facilitating Ministerial working groups and managing projects, they actively contribute to energy technology policymaking in the Nordic region.
