Nordiska Ungdomsspelen

Nordiska Ungdomsspelen is a youth sports event built around the joy of movement, friendly community and the chance to try different sports. Taking place in Östersund from 26 to 28 February 2027, the event is primarily for athletes aged 9 to 16, while also working with partners to provide activities for younger children. Its varied programme encourages participants to explore more than one sport, supporting movement skills and opportunities to connect with others.

Competitions and activities span curling, athletics, girls’ ice hockey, figure skating, air rifle shooting, cross-country skiing, table tennis, pony trotting, ski cross, slalom, an urban sprint, tennis, volleyball and parasport. A signature gathering is Medal Celebration, where participants from all sports come together and receive their medals. The event also features a programme of activities, and its website provides information about accommodation. Founded by Johanna Ojala, Nordiska Ungdomsspelen presents sport as a shared celebration, welcoming young athletes to compete, participate and enjoy movement together.
