About Nordson Green Earth Foundation
The Nordson Green Earth Foundation is a brand dedicated to promoting tree and greenspace equity in Chicagoland communities. They use the Miyawaki method of tree planting to bring the benefits of forests to more communities. With a mission to improve tree equity, they aim to ensure that everyone has access to the health, climate, and social benefits that trees provide.
Recognizing the direct impact of a lack of tree canopy on vulnerable communities, they work to address systemic inequities and create positive change. The foundation was founded in response to the triple threat of climate change, systemic inequities, and the global pandemic. By establishing tiny native forests, they empower communities and foster hope for a better future.
Nordson Green Earth Foundation draws inspiration from Nordy Diploma's successful transformation of an old sugar cane plantation into a thriving man-made forest, now known as Nordson Forest. This forest not only provides sustainable tree canopy but also offers jobs, agriculture, and social housing to local communities. Through their efforts, Nordson Green Earth Foundation aims to create a more equitable and sustainable future for all
