About Norman Bird Sanctuary
Norman Bird Sanctuary (NBS) is a mature 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been making a positive impact on Aquidneck Island and across the state for over sixty years. With a mission rooted in Mabel Norman Cerio's original vision, NBS aims to engage a community of stewards to preserve, protect, and enjoy its vast 325-acre property and the diverse ecosystems within and beyond its stone walls. Offering various programs and services, NBS is dedicated to conservation, historic preservation, education, and exploration.
Visitors can plan their visit and explore the sanctuary's trails, observe a wide variety of birds, or wander through the beautiful gardens. NBS also hosts public programs, events, and educational workshops suitable for all ages, including after school programs, scout programs, and summer camps. By remaining true to Mabel Norman Cerio's vision, NBS continues to honor her gift by preserving and protecting the property with integrity and purpose.
Join NBS in their mission to foster lifelong connections between people and the Sanctuary's rich and diverse habitats
