North Country Select

North Country Select Ranch and Performance Horse Sale Inc. is a horse-sale organization established in 2023 by Matt Rustemeier and Brian Griffith, whose combined experience in the horse industry spans 50 years, including training and selling horses. The sale was created to help buyers shop for quality horses with confidence.

Its selection process assesses each applicant against nine criteria, with horses evaluated in front of a committee of industry professionals. Only those meeting or exceeding the required standards for soundness, conformation, disposition, and training are selected. Consigned horses receive veterinary soundness checks the day before the sale and demonstrate their abilities in a preview ahead of the auction.

Showcased disciplines and skills include ranch horse, reining, cow horse, and roping. Buyers can bid at the live auction or participate online through DLMS (Direct Livestock Marketing System). The organization lists an event at Edmonton Expo Centre on October 10, 2026, with a 10 a.
