North Country Wild Care is a nonprofit organization supporting licensed wildlife rehabilitators across nine counties in upstate New York: Schenectady, Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer, Montgomery, Fulton and Essex. Its home-based rehabilitators assist with injured and orphaned wild animals, with the goal of restoring them to health and releasing them into their natural habitats. The animals they help include squirrels, rabbits, deer, skunks, opossums, bobcats, foxes, chipmunks, porcupines and many kinds of birds, including hawks, eagles and owls.

The organization provides public guidance and an emergency hotline for people who find wildlife in need, and advises contacting a licensed rehabilitator rather than attempting care independently. North Country Wild Care is not an extermination or pest-control service, and it has no public physical location. Community members can support its work by donating, sponsoring, fundraising, assisting with the hotline, attending monthly meetings or becoming wildlife rehabilitators. The group also raises awareness through events, educational resources and appearances by live animal ambassadors. For assistance, call its hotline at (518) 964-6740.
