The North Dakota Gravestone Photo Project is a public-history and genealogy resource dedicated to preserving images of cemetery memorials across North Dakota. Members of the public submit digital photographs of gravestones so inscriptions that are fading, becoming difficult to read, or at risk of disappearing can be recorded for future reference. The collection helps family historians, researchers, and people visiting local cemeteries explore burial records and memorials.

Visitors can search gravestones by name or location, browse the collection by cemetery, and explore surnames and project resources. The site also invites people to contribute photographs and provides information for volunteers and answers to frequently asked questions. Its county listings show the distribution of approved photos, with collections represented in areas including Cass, McIntosh, Richland, Logan, and Barnes counties. At the time of the supplied site information, the project reported 38,828 approved photographs. By combining community contributions with searchable archives, the project offers a practical way to document North Dakota cemetery history and support genealogical research.
