About The Valley Project
The Valley Project is a vibrant, community-led initiative dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of families and whanau in North East Valley, Dunedin. Governed by a passionate board of volunteers, this project mobilizes local residents who contribute thousands of hours annually towards various transformative activities. Among its notable offerings are the Valley Kai program, which provides vital food boxes in collaboration with FoodShare Dunedin, and a range of joyful events such as Matariki celebrations and CreekFest. The Valley Project also publishes the Valley Voice, a community newspaper, that reaches over 3,700 homes, fostering communication and connection among local residents.
At its core, the Valley Project aims to create warmer, drier homes and strengthen community ties through accessible resources, including community room rentals and educational opportunities. By promoting volunteerism, social initiatives, and charity-driven activities, it stands as a cornerstone of support and engagement for the surrounding neighborhoods of Dalmore, Normanby, and Pine Hill.
