Northside Surf School is Northumberland’s original surf school, founded by John Nolan in Amble in 2006. Led by John, who has 25 years of international surfing experience and 17 years as a surf instructor, the school offers friendly, tailored coaching for beginners and experienced surfers alike. Its activities include surfing lessons, a three-day surf course, stand-up paddleboarding lessons and equipment hire, coasteering, and corporate days.
Lessons and paddleboarding sessions are available for individuals and groups at several beaches along the Northumberland coast, as well as on the River Warkworth. Surf locations include Bamburgh, Cresswell and Druridge Bay. The school says it operates seven days a week from April to October, while also describing its surf and paddleboarding offerings as available in all seasons.
Northside Surf School welcomes participants of different ages and abilities, with a team supporting its instruction.
