Allegheny City Historic Gallery is a community-focused organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Pittsburgh’s Northside. Before Pittsburgh annexed the area in 1906, it was known as Allegheny City, and the gallery helps keep that local identity and heritage visible. Its work spans numerous Northside neighborhoods, including Allegheny Center, Central Northside, East Allegheny, Fineview, Manchester, Perry North, Spring Garden, and Troy Hill.

The gallery shares local history through blogs, videos, podcasts, photographs, and historic collections. Topics include neighborhood stories, Native Americans of Allegheny City, historic streetcars, trade cards, and the people who helped shape the community. Its projects also feature collections such as the Unknown Faces of Allegheny and the Bob Rathke Streetcar Collection, alongside historic Pittsburgh photographs and outreach activities.

In addition to documenting the past, Allegheny City Historic Gallery hosts neighborhood reunions that bring former Northsiders together and offers community outreach and tours. Supporters can participate or donate to help sustain its preservation work and strengthen connections among neighbors, old and new.
