North State Nannies

North State Nannies is a North Carolina childcare placement agency, founded in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area and formerly known as Select Sitters. The agency serves families across the Triangle and in Charlotte, Greenville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Western North Carolina, and Wilmington. It connects families with full-time and part-time nannies, household managers, newborn care specialists, and date-night babysitters.

North State Nannies guides parents through each stage of hiring, from an initial application and consultation to candidate interviews, contract discussions, and offer negotiation. Candidates undergo extensive screening, including employment and reference checks, verification of childcare experience, CPR and First Aid certification, identity and criminal background checks, and position-specific matching. The agency also offers placement packages, application resources, and a replacement guarantee, with continued support during the employment relationship. Families may access screened backup-care sitters for an additional referral fee when their regular caregiver is unavailable. By tailoring matches to each household’s needs and preferences, North State Nannies aims to simplify childcare decisions and help families find trusted professional care.
