The North Wales Pioneer is a brand that is spearheading the development of renewable energy in North Wales. They have recently unveiled multi-million pound plans to construct a new generation of floating windfarms at the Port of Mostyn. This ambitious project involves setting up a manufacturing plant on site to produce concrete gravity bases and steel structures for offshore wind turbines.
The port's managing director, Jim O'Toole, expects this venture to create a significant number of jobs, with around 130 new positions being generated. In addition to the manufacturing plant, the port is also planning to build new modular offices and workshops. The project is currently in the consultation phase, and the port has applied for a marine license to develop new berths and reclaim land.
If approved, construction is expected to take about 21 months. The North Wales Pioneer is proud to play a key role in the development of renewable energy in the region and aims to secure the future of this important industry
