About Norton Simon Museum
The Norton Simon Museum, located in Pasadena, California, is known for housing one of the world's most impressive private art collections. Acquired over a span of 30 years by industrialist Norton Simon (1907–1993), the collection features European masterworks from the Renaissance to the 20th century, as well as a remarkable collection of South and Southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years. The museum also includes modern works from Europe and the United States acquired by the former Pasadena Art Museum.
With over 12,000 objects, the website represents about 40% of the entire collection. Additionally, the website provides a Provenance link with information about the origins of the artworks. Visitors can explore the collection online and discover renowned artists such as Rembrandt, Fragonard, Goya, Degas, Vuillard, and Picasso in the museum's In Focus section.
