Nos Gestes Climat

Nos Gestes Climat is a free online tool that helps people understand and reduce their environmental impact. In about 10 minutes, users can estimate both their carbon footprint and their water footprint, receive immediate, confidential results, and explore practical ways to make lower-impact choices. The carbon calculator highlights activities that contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, while the water assessment includes the less visible water used to produce food, clothing, energy, and other goods and services.

The calculator is based on data and expertise from ADEME, the French Agency for Ecological Transition, and its methodology, data, and much of its underlying code are openly documented. Beyond individual assessments, Nos Gestes Climat supports collective action. Friends and families can create groups and track progress through shared challenges, while businesses, local authorities, associations, schools, and festivals can run group tests using ready-to-use tools to engage their communities. The site also provides educational articles, newsletters, documentation, and resources on topics such as transport, housing, food, and consumption, helping users move from understanding their footprint to taking action.
